The king who choose to be a queen - part 1

Pratapgadh had a good king Samarjeet ruling the kingdom. He had a lot of enemies, his two younger brothers Paramjeet and Ramanjeet who always had eyes on the kingdom. His neighboring kings who were jealous of his power and fame, and were always plotting against him using spies inside the palace. Soon Samarjeet had a son born to him, he feared for the safety of his son. There was a prophecy that his son Vikramjeet would defeat all the enemies of the kingdom. So protecting him became more important. They decided to send him into a jungle but that meant the army would not be there to save him. So they decided to grow their son at a sadhu's place where he would be taught all the arts. As an extra precaution they asked the sandhu to raise their son as a girl so that anyone who was searching for son would never be able to find him. They would be looking for a boy and so they renamed their son as Vaishali.

Vaishali grew in the Sadhu's house. True to his word to the king, Sadhu kept Vaishali as a girl. He gave her special herbs and medicines that made her grow physically as a girl else the secret would be out. His wife also taught Vaishali things that every girl has to know. Vaishali also never knew that she was born a boy but believed herself to be a girl. So she learned everything she was taught with keen interest and became very proficient.

She had turned out to be a very pretty girl. As she grew, her training became more complex. While the Sadhu taught her the essence of politics, running a kingdom and weapons. The wife taught her the trade of seducing a man, running the household and duties of a wife.
